ST. DAVID and FRENCHVILLE – David R. J. Dumond, 61, passed away June 8, 2011, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born May 23, 1950, in St. David, son of the late Leo and Lily Ouellette Dumond.

David was a parishioner of St. Luce Catholic Church, Frenchville, where he was a member of the choir. He was a Vietnam veteran and retired from Maine National Guard Unit, Fort Kent. David was a member of American Legion Post No. 145, Frenchville, and a fourth degree Knight with Knights of Columbus, St. Agathe, where he was deputy grand knight and held various other positions.

He is survived by his son, Roy and Nancy Dumond of Bristol, Conn.; and daughters, Pamela and Jeff Smith of Plantsville, Conn., and Julie Dumond of Frenchville. He leaves behind a brother, Maurice Dumond of Madawaska; his sister, Lucy and Raymond Cyr of St. David; a sister-in-law, Bernadette Dumond; and four grandchildren, Nicholas, Ashley and Olivia Dumond of Bristol, Conn., and Tyler Smith of Plantsville, Conn.

A funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 13, at St. Luce Catholic Church, Frenchville. Calling hours will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday and 8-9:45 a.m. Monday at Michaud Funeral Home, Frenchville. Burial will be at Northern Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Michaud Funeral Home, J.
