HOWLAND – Helene Tardif, 66, wife of the late Gilles Tardif, passed away June 13, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 24, 1945, in Escourt, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of Joseph and Marie-Ange (Theriault) Roy.

Helene was an animal lover, but most of all, she loved being a grandmother. She is survived by a son, Kent Tardif of Howland; a daughter, Jessie Hale and her husband, Fletcher, of Winn; three grandchildren, Haley Tardif, Brandon Tardif and Aiden Hale; a sister, Jean D’Arc Charest of Canada; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by three sisters, Celine Levesque, Rita Beaulieu and Mariette Gagnon; and a brother, Regis Roy.

A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Cemetery, West Enfield, with the Rev. Leroy Landry officiating. Arrangements with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln. Those who wish may sign an online register and leave written condolences at
