DOVER-FOXCROFT – Glenna Mary (Collette) Bearce, 70, loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away suddenly June 16, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 23, 1940, in Bangor, the daughter of Edward and June (Roderick) Collette.

Glenna graduated from Foxcroft Academy and worked at the family restaurant, Collette’s Colonial Restaurant, for many years. She was a member of Mocutoc Club, an active Foxcroft Academy alumni, a member of the Audubon Society and a true master gardener. Glenna was a lifelong communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, a member of Bernadettes Club and a Eucharistic minister. She was a devoted Catholic, said her rosary daily and passed her deep faith in God onto her children and grandchildren. She received valuable spiritual insight from Father Myles Cyr; her son, Brother Michael Bearce; and her cousin, Joann Royer. It has been claimed by her family and her closest friends that she was surely a candidate for sainthood. Glenna’s hobbies included crossword puzzles, playing cards, going berrying with her mother, junking with her favorite cousin, Donnie, fishing, camping and hosting family gatherings at her home.

She and Kenny followed all her children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchild’s extracurricular activities.

Glenna leaves her husband of 54 years, Kenneth R. Bearce; her daughter, Tiffany Bearce Fowles and her partner, Ronald Foster; her son, Brother Michael Bearce; her daughter, Ann Bearce Scribner and her husband, Charles; her daughter, Collette Bearce Simmons and her husband, John; her brother, Roderick Collette and his wife, Judith; her grandchildren, Rebecca Fuselier and her husband, Adam, Nicole Fowles and her partner, Nathan Leach, Kenny and Kaitlyn Scribner, and Abigail and Dustin Simmons; and one great-grandchild, James Noonan.

A memorial Mass will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Dover-Foxcroft, with Father Kent Ouellette, celebrant. A private burial will be held in the family lot at Rural Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations for Mass cards at St. Thomas would be appreciated.
