BANGOR and WILDWOOD, Fla. – Richard Clarence Macleod died June 19, 2011, in hospice care in The Villages, Fla. He was born June 2, 1937, in Unity, son of Clarence and Marie (Caron) Macleod.

Dick graduated from Cheverus High School, Portland, was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam, then graduated from the University of Maine in Portland in 1968. He worked as a controller for Sears, Roebuck & Co. in Bangor and Connecticut, and later settled in Bangor and became a self-employed accountant. He was a member of Penobscot County Conservation Association, serving as president and treasurer, and actively involved with the Sportsman Show for many years. He retired and moved to Florida in 2002.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela (Sharpe) Macleod of Wildwood, Fla.; his daughter, Julie Macleod of Holden; a brother, Larry and his wife, Linda, of The Villages, Fla.; and a sister, M. Jane and her husband, T. Dolphin, of Oakland, Calif.

Funeral services and interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla. Those who wish may make gifts in Dick’s memory to Penobscot County Conservation Association, P.O. Box 605, Brewer, ME 04412.
