LINCOLN – Patrick Henry Johnston, 27, passed away June 20, 2011, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born June 9, 1984, in Bangor.
He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Suzanne Johnston; siblings, Caroline, Heather, Lucas, and Matthew; grandparents, William and Ann Sage and many uncles, aunts and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Henry and Marvel Johnston.
Patrick graduated Mattanawcook Academy in 2003. During his high school years, he participated in many school activities including plays, musicals, chorus, math team, track, tennis and football. He also was an active member of Boy Scout Troop No. 50, attaining the rank of Eagle Scout, Explorer Post No. 50, and a lifeguard and water safety instructor at the local beach. A 2007 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Pat was an avid member of acapella group the Rusty Pipes. Pat also formed lasting friendships with his brothers in his service fraternity, Lamda Chi Alpha. As a member of LXA, Pat was an officer and was selected to represent the fraternity on an international level. He returned to Lincoln to work at the Johnston Dandy Co. as a mechanical engineer after graduation. Patrick had a love for traveling and exploring new cultures, scouting, God and music. His gift of forming strong bonds blessed him with many friendships. He will be missed by all these friends and family.
Viewings will take place 2-4
and 6-9 p.m. Thursday, June 23, at Clay Funeral Home, Lincoln. Funeral service will be held in his honor at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, at St. Mary of Lourdes Catholic Church in Lincoln. After the funeral service, a wake will be held in celebration of his life at The Waterfront in Lincoln.
