LEE – Helen Veino, 92, went to be with the Lord June 26, 2011, at Colonial Health Care, Lincoln. She was born Oct. 22, 1918.
She resided at Care Ridge Estates for many years. Her life was filled with many days of enjoyment with her chum, Harold Whitten. She enjoyed spending days at the Junior Lake camp and traveling to South Carolina to be with family. She enjoyed bowling and her exercise program at the cardiac rehabilitation center until age 88. She was considered a legend because of her 14 years in the exercise program. She was a wonderful and caring mother and grandmother.
Helen was predeceased by her husband, Marsdon Veino; her parents, George and Albina Aldrich; her sisters, Ruth Ledger and Viola Arthurs; and her brothers, George, Irvin and Mose Aldrich. She is survived by her children, Searle Veino of Anderson, S.C., Delmont Veino and his wife, Linda, of Easley, S.C., Leigh Veino and his wife, Nancy, of Travelers Rest, S.C., Joyce Thompson of Milford, and Janice Rideout and her husband, Wade, of Winn; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. The family thanks Dr. Alessi and his staff; Care Ridge Estates’ staff and Colonial Health Care staff for the loving kindness and excellent care they gave our mother during the final years, months and days of her life.
