HERMON and WYTOPITLOCK – Kenneth D. Irish Sr., 82, died June 27, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born Dec. 29, 1928, in Bancroft, to Ellen and Daniel Irish.

He graduated from Houlton Regional in 1979 with his GED. He served in the Army during the Korean War time. He worked on the railroad and mostly in the woods of Wytopitlock, owning his own business. Most recently he retired from the Wytopitlock school department as a bus driver. He married Charlotte (Brown) Irish, in 1950 and together they had three children. He was a member of the American Legion.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Charlotte; and his siblings: sister, Doris, and brothers, Blaine, Don, Elvin, Earlon, Herschel and Milo; his grandson, Casey; and his best friend, Danny the Dog. He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Jellison and son-in-law, Brent of East Corinth; daughter, Martha Irish and friend, Cheryl Murphy, with whom he lived in Hermon; son, Kenneth Irish Jr. and his wife, Mary Ann; grandchildren, Shelly Hopple, Steven Jellison, Jerome Jellison and Sarah Irish; six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. Steve Waite officiating.
