BANGOR — Alex McKenney homered, doubled and singled to drive in three runs to power Bangor West past Houlton 14-2 Wednesday in Little League District 3 baseball, ages 11-12 tournament play at 13th Street Field.
Peter Kemble allowed two runs on three hits and a walk while striking out eight for 2-0 Bangor West. Derek Fournier had three singles with two RBIs while George Payne and Kemble also hit three singles.
Cameron Graham hit an RBI single in the second inning for 1-1 Houlton, and Nathan Cowperthwaite had a run-scoring single in the fifth.

At Hampden, Cole Tweedie belted a three-run homer to left field in the fourth inning to lead Hampden over Hermon.
Casey Sudbeck struck out eight through four innings for 1-0 Hampden. Andrew Gendreau hit an RBI double in the sixth.
Matt Leach led 1-1 Hermon with a two-run double in the fifth inning. Tyler Beaton added an RBI bunt single in the first.

At Old Town, Calvin Mercier led off the seventh inning with a single, stole second, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on another wild pitch as Bangor East topped Holbrook of Holden.
Brandon Robertson struck out 12 and allowed one run through six innings for 1-0 Bangor East. Kyle McCue and Mercier both singled twice.
Collin Rhoads-Doyle hit two singles and scored in the sixth inning for 0-1 Holbrook. Nate Galinski had a double and Nate Smith recorded nine strikeouts.

At Hermon, Kayla Gray hit three singles and knocked in five runs as Hermon topped Lincoln to win the district championship.
Hermon will represent District 3 in the state tournament next month in Glenburn.
Gabby Chasse homered, tripled and singled for 4-0 Hermon. Breanne Oakes had two singles and a double with two RBIs, and Olivia Nash singled four times.
Katie Tolman paced 2-2 Lincoln with a two-run double in the third inning. Kim Voisine added a single.

At Ellsworth, lefthander Nick Bagley pitched a no-hitter and barely missed a perfect game as Ellsworth defeated Sunrise of Milbridge.
Bagley faced just one batter over the minimum during his complete-game effort, striking out 15 batters and walking no one for 2-0 Ellsworth. The only Sunrise batter to reach base was Xan Rush, who was hit by a pitch in the fourth inning.
Hunter Cote doubled for Ellsworth, while Trent Mahon had an RBI single, Troy Folmer singled, was hit by a pitch and scored a run, and Cooper Henderson and Bagley also had a single each.
Sunrise is 0-1 in district play.

At Bucksport, Dylan Robbins hit a two-run single to highlight a six-run fifth inning to help Bucksport eliminate Calais.
Riley MacLeod hit two singles and a two-run double for 1-1 Bucksport. Matt Vincent had two doubles and single while Tyler Hayes and Austin Mason both added a double and a single.
Isaac Johnson hit a two-run homer in the fifth inning to pace 0-2 Calais. Matt Perkins singled twice.

Garrison Looke hit two doubles, a single and drove in two runs for 2-0 Coastal. Stefon Simmons doubled and singled with four RBIs, Jacob Bowden had two singles and two RBIs and Jacob Keenan hit two singles.
Aaron Snurkowski and Drew Rich singled for 1-1 Acadian.

Machias got off to a hot start with a two-run first inning and a four-run second inning. Logan Huckins added a double, and Kalyn Otto contributed a single.
For Ellsworth, Abby Lynch had a home run, Caitlyn Bean and Samantha Mason each had a double and a single, and Callie Hammer contributed two singles.

Tyler Carmichael homered and singled to drive in three runs for 0-2 Bangor West. Nick Budreau singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove in two runs.
