OLD TOWN – Goldie Mae (Weymouth) Thompson, 79, died Sunday, July 3, 2011. She was born April 12, 1932, in Clifton, the daughter of Walter E. and Hazel I. (Spencer) Weymouth.

Goldie grew up in Clifton and Greenfield, and was a graduate of Old Town High School. She enjoyed careers as a machine tender for Strair’s Textile Mill, Orono, dispatcher for Yellow Cab, Bangor, and retired as a cashier from Doug’s Shop ‘n Save, Old Town. She enjoyed fishing and crocheting, and had a passion for bingo.

Goldie is survived by her children, Linda, Larry, Roxanne, Carol, Cynthia, Hazel and Walter; grandchildren, Louis Jr., Danny, David, P.J., Brian, Felecia, Dustin, Brandon and Josh; 11 great-grandchildren; a very special aunt, Helen Barker of Milford; and close friend, Clinton Partridge. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Floyd “Bob” L. Thompson; son, George “Andy” Daigle Jr.; and grandchildren, Rebecca “Becky” and Larry “J.R.” Pelkey.

A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Milford Cemetery, Bradley Road, Milford. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at
