CHERRYFIELD – Leslie “Bud” W. Randall Sr., 97, passed away peacefully Friday, June 10, 2011, with his family at his side, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, Ellsworth. He entered this world Sept. 22, 1913, in Cherryfield, son of the late Augustus and Ethel (Willey) Randall.

He worked for Augusta and Bangor State Hospitals, was a deputy sheriff for Washington County and worked a combination of 58 years in the blueberry business working for Jasper Wyman & Son and Northeastern Blueberry Company. After retiring he still continued working part time as security for Cherryfield Foods. He was presented with Cherryfield’s Boston Post Cane on his 95th birthday. He enjoyed his hunting trips to Newfoundland and enjoyed driving on the blueberry barrens in his later years.

He leaves behind his faithful friend, Dusty, his golden retriever. Leslie is survived by his son, Leslie W. Randall Jr. and his wife, Hilda, of Weeks Mills; daughter, Joan Jones and companion, ID Thornton of Windsor; grandchildren, Cynthia Simmons of Bermuda, Lewis Jones II of Oakland, Kimberly Hallee and husband, Paul, of Randolph, Kelley Choate and husband, Chris, of Weeks Mills; great-grandchildren, Janelle and Arianna Simmons of Bermuda, Brandon and Madison Choate of Weeks Mills; nephews and nieces, Jacky, Tommy, Julie, Marie, Jimmy and Vickie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Julia Glazier and Edna Raymond, both of Augusta.

A graveside memorial service will held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at Pine Grove Cemetery, Cherryfield.
