HERMON – Roger W. Howes, 63, left this life July 6, 2011, after a long battle with diabetes and kidney failure. He was born April 30, 1948, in Stetson, the son of Harvard Howes Sr. and Barbara (Awalt) Howes.
Roger enjoyed fishing and playing Bingo with his wife at many Bingo’s around the area. He loved to make people laugh and was full of fun. He owned and enjoyed his business, Roger’s Lawn Care, and his many great customers until his health forced him to retire. Roger cherished his time with his granddaughters and liked to take them fishing. He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. May he be reunited with his son in heaven.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Sylvia (Crockett) Howes; his granddaughters, Caitlyn Howes and Cassie Trudel; brothers, Harvard Howes Jr. and wife, Connie, of Brewer and Florida, and Karl Howes of Oklahoma; sisters, Joann Bray and husband, Les, of Connecticut, Dianne Howell of Georgia; and his special mother-in-law, Evelyn Crockett of Hermon. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Scott Howes, in 2003; and his brother, Gary Howes.
Friends may call 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 10, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday, July 11, with the Rev. Stephen D. Hall, pastor of Harvest Chapel, Levant, officiating. Interment will be at Snows Corner Cemetery, Hermon.
