AMHERST – Gordon Joseph Durham, 90, died July 11, 2011, at an Ellsworth health care facility. He was born Dec. 31, 1920, in Sussex, New Brunswick, the son of John and Cathrine (Curran) Durham.

Gordon was a self-employed logger. He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn of Amherst; daughter, Marie Johnson and husband, Mark, of Otis; grandchildren, Jeffrey Johnson and wife, Michelle, of Carlisle, Mass., and Julie Swenson and husband, Bryan, of Woolwich; and great-grandchildren, Evan and Elena Johnson, Courtney, Sadie and Valerie Swenson. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Alice Pettegrew.

Calling hours will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Interment will be at Frost Cemetery, Mariaville.
