EAST MILLINOCKET – Francis E. Morin, 85, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011, at Colonial Acres, Lincoln. He was born April 21, 1926, in East Millinocket, the son of Andrew and Leona (Theriault) Morin.
Francis served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Francis was married to Ruth (Buckley) Morin for 64 years, and worked as a Millwright for Great Northern Paper Company for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was also a licensed plumber and plumbing inspector for East Millinocket and Millinocket for many years. Francis was a communicant of St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish in East Millinocket, and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of Pheeney Groves Post No. 13, American Legion, East Millinocket.
In addition to his wife, Ruth, Francis is survived by two children, Joseph Morin, and Marilyn Brunette and her husband, Bill; five brothers, Fred Morin and his wife, Virginia, Louis Morin and his wife, Lorraine, Donald Morin and his wife, Betty, Clarence Morin and his wife, Beverly, and Roger Morin and his wife, Mary; three sisters, Priscilla Collinsworth, Esther Willette and her husband, Frank, and Kathleen Albert and her husband, Ronald, all of East Millinocket; a brother-in-law, John Buckley of Rhode Island; three grandchildren, Aaron and his wife, Kerrie, Paul and his wife, Sandy, and Ryan and his wife, Kristen; five great-grandchildren, Brooke, Kaitlyn, Hannah, Brady and Nathan; a special niece and nephew, Karen Giberson and her husband, Charlie, and their children, Kevin and Erik, and Gary Morin and his wife, Pam, and their children, Amy and Kelly; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Francis will also be missed by his faithful best friend, Mindy Lou. He was predeceased by two brothers, Joseph “Rudolph” Morin and George Morin; and two brothers-in-law, Clifford Collinsworth and Hugh Morris. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Colonial Acres, Lincoln Lakes Dialysis, Penobscot Valley Ambulance Service, and East Millinocket Ambulance Service.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
