FLINTSTONE, Md., and PRESQUE ISLE – Jeanne Elizabeth (Jenkins) Eaton, formerly of Presque Isle, died July 11, 2011, at Western Maryland Regional Medical Center. Born April 25, 1935, in Presque Isle, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Smith) Jenkins.
She graduated from Eastern Maine General Hospital School of Nursing, Bangor. Most of her nursing career was at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., and for the next 30 years worked for Drs. Brodell and Dawson, where she became a pediatric nurse practitioner.
Survivors include her husband, Earl F. Eaton Jr.; her son, Earl “Ned” E. Eaton; her daughter, Elaine Sipes; her sister, Lois Mitchell; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, Md. Funeral service 10:30 a.m. Friday at Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Cumberland, Md.
