OLD TOWN and HOMER, Alaska – Charles Richard “Dick” Smyth died July 15, 2011. He was born Aug. 17, 1942, in Bangor, to Corinne and Charles Smyth.

Dick was a graduate of Old Town High School, Class of 1960, a U.S. Air Force veteran and an avid poker player.

Dick was predeceased by a daughter, Kristie Smyth. Dick is survived by his mother, Corinne Sturgeon of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; father, Charles Smyth of Saco; sons, Mike and Larry; grandsons, Michael and Kristopher; granddaughter, Kayla Michelle; stepdaughter, Cherise Liston, all of Alaska; brothers, Tim and wife, Belinda, of Millinocket and Terry and wife, Sharon, of Medway; sisters, Margaret “Peggy” Lapikas and husband, Dennis, of Columbia City, Ore., and Elizabeth “Liz” Langley of Anchorage, Alaska; and very special friends, Vicki and Jim Swaggert of Homer, Alaska. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
