BANGOR – Earle B. Leveille, 86, died July 16, 2011, at Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, with his loving and devoted wife at his side. He was born Sept. 24, 1924, in Bangor, the son of Virgil and Sadie (St. Peter) Leveille.
Earle served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and a former member of Clifton Baptist Church and their board of directors. He was selectman for the town for Clifton for 12 years and welfare officer for two years. Earle was an automotive machinist working in Bangor, Philadelphia and New Jersey. After his retirement Earle pursued his passion for woodworking. He established a business named Windsweep and created beautifully crafted furniture, of which he was very proud.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia (Miller) Leveille of Bangor; two nephews, Thomas Huff and his wife, Jo, of Alpharetta, Ga., and Robert Huff and his wife, Kathy, of Ventura, Calif.; four stepchildren, the Rev. Terrence McGillicuddy and his wife, Linda, of Medway, Mass., Timothy McGillicuddy of Bangor, Holly McGillicuddy and her husband, Jeffery Dunn, of Scarborough and Erin Martin of Bethesda, Md.; and special friends, Gary and Tina Ferrill, Barbara Csabinsky, Ted and Rosemarie Curtis, Audie and Mary Cookson, Chuck and Jo Hallee, and the Rev. Apollinary. He is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Earle will be remembered with love by the staff and residents of Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Elaine (Spruce) Leveille; and his sister, Elaine Huff.
