COREA – Volney Stewart, 93, husband of the late Lillian (Warren) Stewart, died July 15, 2011. He was born May 25, 1918, in Corea, the son of Roy and Hattie (Westcott) Stewart.
Volney was a member of Winter Harbor Lodge No. 192 AF & AM for more than 50 years. He was a lifelong lobster fisherman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and going to camp in Beddington during hunting season.
He is survived by one son, Dennis Stewart and his wife, Betty, of Salisbury, N.H.; two grandchildren, Heather and Hope; and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Edith Woodward of Corea; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was predeceased by one brother, Everett Stewart.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Main Street, Milbridge. Private interment will be at Corea Cemetery. Gifts in his memory may be sent to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be sent at
