MEDWAY – Ellen Lakeman, 58, died July 18, 2011, surrounded by her family at home. She was born June 2, 1953, daughter of Richard Folsom and Laura Given Folsom Schroeder.

Ellen attended Greenville High School and then went on to graduate from the University of Maine at Machias, where she met her future husband. Ellen and Mickey settled in Medway, and she spent her later years working as an administrative assistant for $ingle $ource Financial Centre, Millinocket. Ellen enjoyed spending time with family at camp, having fires, gardening and walking the loop. She also enjoyed her annual drive down the coast with her husband and spending countless hours spoiling her grandson.

She is survived by her husband, Willis “Mickey” Lakeman Jr. of Medway; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Michael Osborne of East Millinocket, and Ann and Jayson Hebert of Gray; grandchildren, Brayden, Ella, Lily and a baby girl on the way; her brothers and sisters, Linda and Hugh McEachern, Max and Judy Folsom, Rodney and Vanessa Folsom, all of Greenville, Ann and Fred Hansen, James and Diane Folsom, Helen Smeaton and Roscoe Schroeder, all of Dillingham, Alaska; a special aunt, Ruth “Honey” Richards; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews; and the most spoiled cat, Dexter.

There will be a celebration of Ellen’s life 1 p.m. Friday, July 22, at the Lakeman home in Medway. We wish to invite Ellen’s family and close friends to attend, share memories and have a good time.
