BANGOR – Elsie M. McLeod, 84, a resident of Bangor for 48 years, died early Monday morning, July 11, 2011, after a brave battle with cancer at her daughter’s home in Niceville, Fla. She was born Jan. 10, 1927, in New York City, to immigrant parents from Russia and Germany.
Mrs. McLeod was predeceased by her husband, Daniel E. McLeod Jr.; and her son, Michael A. McLeod. She is survived by three children, Daniel E. McLeod III and his wife, Nancy, Cathleen Ray and Patrick A. McLeod; seven grandchildren, Danny, Shauna, Derek, Jared, Melinda, Marcella and Megan; as well as four great-grandchildren, Cameron, Kacey, Jacob and Natalie.
Mrs. McLeod’s family will hold a committal service 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor. Please meet at the superintendent’s office at 9:45 a.m. to be escorted to the burial site. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
