BANGOR – Ruth M. Urquhart, 80, wife of the late Dalton E. Urguhart, died July 21, 2011, at an Orono health care center. She was born Feb. 21, 1931, in Jonesport, daughter of William and Beatrice (Faulkingham) Woodard.

For 32 years Ruth attended Apostolic Lighthouse Church, Bangor, where she was active in the life of the church. She coached the Bible Quizing Team for several years and traveled to several states with the team where they competed nationally. She and Dalton were also members of a church in Ellsworth and Town Hill, where her husband pastured. Ruth enjoyed writing songs.

Surviving are her children, Clyde and his wife, Susan, of Bangor, Paul of Orono, Douglas and his wife, Katherine, of Winterport, Phillip of Clifton, Galen of Brewer, Lynnette of Dover-Foxcroft and David Heath of Levant; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild expected this fall; sister, Margaret Guptill of Hermon; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years; a son, Dennis and his wife, Marcia; and two sisters, Lucy and Evelyn.

A service honoring Ruth’s life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, July 24, at Apostolic Lighthouse Church, 517 Hammond St., Bangor, with Pastor Charles Hurst, presiding. Family and friends may visit 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial will be at a later date in Jonesport.
