BUCKSPORT – Elton Glen Alden Jr., 64, passed away July 20, 2011, after a long illness with ALS. He was born July 24, 1946, in Taylor, Ark., the son of Elton G. Alden Sr. and Star Light Alden-Becca.

Elton served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, 1965-1967; he was proud to be an American veteran. Elton enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Exiles Motorcycles Club, and he loved the “brotherhood,” which so few understand. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten by those who knew and loved him.

Elton is survived by his wife, Margaret Alden of Bucksport; his mother, Star Light Alden-Becca and stepfather, Richard Becca, of Colorado; two sons, Shotreck Alden of Colorado and Elton Alden III of Idaho; one daughter, Valarea Alden of Colorado; three stepsons, Phillip Chick and Robb Boynton, both of Portland, and Lance Johnson of Bangor; two sisters, Priscilla Dittmer and Becky Wilson, both of Colorado; two brothers, Gene Alden of Colorado and Victor Alden of Florida; very close friends, Rob and Cheryl Cassidy of Orrington; several nieces and nephews. Elton was predeceased by his father, Elton G. Alden Sr.; and his brother, Jesse Alden.

A memorial reception will be held 3-5 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at Pine Grove Remembrance Center, 1347 Hammond St., Bangor.
