BREWER – Bruce W. Shaw, 62, died July 27, 2011, at a Bangor hospital after a short illness. He was born Dec. 16, 1948, in Bangor, son of Ward and Frances (Duran) Shaw.
Bruce graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1966, and the University of Maine, Orono, in 1970. He served with the U.S. Army from 1971 to 1973, and then taught English in the local school systems.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 37 years, Peggy (Crowe) Shaw of Brewer; his son, Brandon of Brewer; daughter, Jean of Portland; his sister and her husband, Cookie and Doug Williams of Hampton, N.H.; his brother, Richard Shaw of Bangor; two nephews, Jason Williams and his wife, Rosa, of Manhattan, N.Y., and Jeremy Williams of Boston; great-niece, May Williams of Manhattan, N.Y.; and his cousin, Mary Jean and her husband, Adrian Cronkhite, of East Corinth.
