CARIBOU – Lorraine R. Doody, 83, wife of the late Vinal Doody Sr., died July 28, 2011, in Caribou. She was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Caribou, daughter of the late William and Annie (Michaud) Drost.
Mrs. Doody was employed by Caribou School Department as a cook at Caribou Middle School for many years, and was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
She is survived by five daughters and three sons-in-law, Penny and Ken Lewis of Buxton, Gloria and Charles Weir of White Oak, Pa., Diane and Carlton Jackson of Caribou, Beverly Spiers and her companion, Bill White, of Goose Creek, S.C., and Mary Griffin of West Palm Beach, Fla.; six sons and four daughters-in-law, Dana and Lynn Doody andFrederick and Lonnie Doody, all of Caribou, Vinal Doody Jr. and his companion, Elizabeth Hill, of Las Cruses, N.M., Thomas and Diane Doody of Pittsburgh, Gary and Lynn Doody of Poquoson, Va., and Robert Doody of Caribou; two brothers, Donald Drost of Waterbury, Conn.,
and Robert Drost of Wallingford, Conn.; a sister, Reba Spieker of Sparks, Nev., 32 grandchildren, including a special grandson, Matthew Bouchard; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Doody was predeceased by her husband of more than 56 years, Vinal Doody Sr., in 2002; her oldest son, David Doody; her youngest daughter, Barbara Doody; and a grandson, Taylor.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church with the Very Rev. John Paul Labrie officiating. Interment will be at New Holy Rosary Cemetery. After the services all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at the parish center.
