PRESQUE ISLE – Rita “Mama-Rita” Levesque Nadeau, 87, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011. She was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Clair, New Brunswick, daughter of Rene and Alphena (Nadeau) Levesque.
In 1948 she married Joseph H. Nadeau Jr. of Fort Kent, and they raised their family in Presque Isle. She will always be remembered for having a pot of tea, some cookies, a good story, and a front door always open for family and friends.
She is survived by her sister, Jacqueline Voisin; children, Joseph, Thomas and Jean; grandchildren, Paul, Nicole, Bethany, Jessica, Adam and Andrew; a great-grandchild, Sam; as well as many nieces, nephews and many friends.
The time and place for funeral Mass and burial will be announced at a later date. Contributions may be made to local food banks in memory of Mama-Rita’s love of cooking and her generous caring for others.
