HERMON – Marjorie F.W. McMaster, 89, wife of the late Capt. Fitzhugh McMaster, U.S. Navy, retired, died Aug. 1, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 30, 1922, in Hartford, Conn., daughter of Edgar Francis and Helen (Granberry) Waterman.

Marjorie loved her research and genealogy at Connecticut Historical Society and appreciated her years in Chatham, Mass., sailing and swimming, also in the genealogical department at Eldredge Public Library, Chatham, Mass. She will be remembered for her gardening and beautiful kept grounds at her home in Hermon.

Surviving, in addition to her daughter, Helen Granberry (McMaster) Crowley and her husband, Frank J. Crowley, of Hermon, are one stepdaughter, Carolista McMaster and her husband, Fred, of Florida; two sisters, Helen Waterman and Mary Waterman, both of Connecticut; two nephews, Robert Hamilton of Arizona and Edgar Hamilton of Michigan; and one niece, Cornelia Hamilton of Connecticut. In addition to her parents and her husband, Fitzhugh, she was predeceased by one sister, Lucy Hamilton; and stepson, Richard McMaster.

A private burial will be held Friday, Aug. 5, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Conn. A service of Brookings-Smith, Bangor. Condolences to the family may be expressed at
