CORINNA – Philip Paul Nye, 70, died Aug. 1, 2011, at a Pittsfield nursing home. He was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Perham, a son of Orlo G. and Margaret (Kennedy) Nye.

He was employed by Veazie’s Dairy Farm when he was young, and later for Hartland Tannery and Eastland Woolen Mill until it closed. On June 2, 1962, he married Diane Buck. Philip will be remembered for riding around town on his scooter or lawn mower, going out to the Veazie or Simpson farms to see the guys. He loved truck-tractor pulling, NASCAR and was a Tony Stewart fan. Visits from Lauryn and Aidan Anderson, Jake Paradis or Kaileigh Clowry and Brock always made his day. He was fortunate to have had great neighbors that gave a helping hand when he wasn’t able to do things; thanks to Ernie and Mary Kneeland, Scott Butler and his fiancee, Heather. It was much appreciated.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by two sons, Randy and wife, Debbie Nye, of Ripley, and Patrick and wife, Kathy Nye, of St. Albans; two brothers, Gerald Nye of Hampden, and Donald and wife, Mary Nye, of Corinna; two sisters, Alberta Nelson of Dover-Foxcroft, and Edith and husband, Rick Zajak, of Newport; brother-in-law, Terry and wife, Esther Buck, of Corinna; a sister-in-law, Charlene Emerson of Newport; his mother-in-law, Thelma Buck of Corinna; a stepgrandson, Justin Clowry of Fairfield; great-stepgranddaughter, Kaileigh Clowry; several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his pal, Kamie Cat. Philip was predeceased by a brother, Orlo K. Nye; a baby brother, Clarence; and two sisters, Phyllis Wright and Gladys Ouellette.

By Philip’s request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal Chapel, Corinna. Those who wish may leave written tributes at
