CARY, N.C. – Joyce M. Marks, 76, died Aug. 2, 2011. She was born July 3, 1935, in Houlton, to Marcia and Gerald Clowes.
Before retiring, she worked for Save the Children, Westport, Conn.
Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Richard H. Marks; son, Melvin E. Benn and wife, Lorraine, of Hancock; daughters, Laurie B. Feranec and husband, Michael, of Cary, N.C., and Brenda J. Marshall and husband, Denis, of Salem, Ore.; grandchildren, Casey and Christa Benn of Hancock, and Alyssa and Andrew Feranec of Cary, N.C.; sisters, Geraldine Whitney of Phillips and Linda Beaupre of Houlton; brother, Terry Clowes of Houlton; brother-in-law, Robert Marks and sister-in-law, Adrianne, of Rutland, Vt.; brother-in-law, Gary Benn and sister-in-law, Rita, of Sarasota, Fla.; sister-in-law, Carol Mansur and brother-in-law, Norwood, of Leland, N.C.; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Clowes; sister, Sandra Adair; and husband, Edward M. Benn.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 200 South East Maynard Road, Cary, N.C.
