MATTAWAMKEAG – Carl Edward Thompson, 85, went home to be with the Lord Aug. 5, 2011, at a Lincoln hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1925, in East Millinocket, the son of Melvin and Sarah (Powers) Thompson.
He was married for 53 years to Lurene A. Worster, before her death Oct. 25, 2006. He worked for many years and retired from Forster Manufacturing, Mattawamkeag. Carl served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by a son, Edwin McReavy and family of Lincoln; his brothers and sisters and their families, Geneva Michaud of East Millinocket, Dorothy Doane of Kingman, Robena and Hugh Dugans of Lagrange, Joann and Vernon Hunt of Bucksport, Evelyn and Donald Wright of Foxboro, Mass., Gloria and Roger Anderson of Mineral Point, Mo., Basil Thompson of Tampa, Fla., Alton and Sharon Thompson of Mishawaka, Ind., Arnold and Donna Thompson of Caribou and Joseph and Debbie Thompson of Glen Carbon, Ill. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by four brothers, Harold, Melvin Jr., Myles and Virgil; and a sister, Martha Corbett.
