DEXTER – Fernand Eric Busque, 71, died Aug. 5, 2011, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. He was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Montreal, a son of Charles and Rachelle (Nadeau) Busque.

He moved to Dexter from Canada in 1964, and worked in the woods. He was a hand sewer at Dexter Shoe, retiring in 2000. He was a communicant of St. Anne’s Church, Our Lady of The Snows Parish, and was a former member of Knights of Columbus. Fernand graduated from Dexter Regional High School later in life. An avid hunter and fisherman, he also enjoyed coin collecting and was an accomplished musician, playing the accordion and harmonica. In his later years he enjoyed playing Beano and volunteered at the nursing home assisting those less fortunate than himself.

He is survived by two sons, Eric and wife, Beth, of Westbrook and Jeffery and wife, Monica, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Deborah and husband, Mike Guimond, of Salisbury, N.C., and Patricia Busque of Dexter; a brother, Charles and wife, Sherry Busque, of Dexter; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Dexter, with the Rev. Kent Ouellette officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
