CARMEL – Barbara (Park) Cook died peacefully Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011, at a Bangor hospital with her daughter and grandson at her side. She was born Aug. 15, 1925, the daughter of Arthur and Bertha (Cook) Park of Dexter.

Barb is survived by her daughter, who was her best friend, Virginia “Ginny” Phillips and her husband, Jim; her grandson, Tim Baude and his family; and her very special great-granddaughter, Madeline Grace. She is also survived by one brother, Ernest Park and his wife, Liz; two sisters, Dolores Rhew and Connie Warren; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Carl, who died in 1991; her son, Russell; her sister, Virginia; and brother, Bill. The family offers sincere thanks to the staff at St. Joseph Hospital for their kindness and care for Barb throughout the last several years.

Calling hours will be 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Carmel Ambulance Department, Carmel, ME 04419.
