HOULTON – Nancy Fitzpatrick, 73, died Aug. 21, 2011, with her family at her side, at her home. She was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Houlton, the daughter of Murray Sr. and Clare (VanTassell) Varney.
Nancy was retired from Houlton High School. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, John Fitzpatrick of Houlton; her three children, Patricia and Wendell Hersey of Houlton, John M. and Debbie Fitzpatrick of Tucson, Ariz., and Michael and Gillian Fitzpatrick of Houlton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister, Patty Quinn of Windham; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Murray Jr.; and a sister, Vernabelle Moran.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Houlton, with Father David Raymond, celebrant. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
