LAMOINE – Nancy E. (Boynton) Jordan, 72, passed peacefully Aug. 20, 2011, at her daughter’s home in Lamoine, after only a couple months of battling cancer. She was born May 11, 1939, in Boston, the daughter of Jerome E. and Addie C. (Ryder) Boynton.
She worked from the time she could walk in the seafood industry, from delivering seafood for her dad to processing it herself, right up until she retired. Nancy was always on the go. Nothing would slow her down. Once retired she moved into Meadow View Apartments, where she met and made so many friends. From then on she devoted herself to taking care of many residents there. From nursing them to running errands, she was steadily on the go. Such a loving and caring person, she always put everyone else first. We will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Jordan of Lamoine, Walter and Diane Covey of Lamoine and Mike and Elaine Kelley of Florida; her grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart, Alicia Briggs and Greg Murray, Eric Briggs and wife, Rain, Walter Jr. and Stacy Covey, Holly and Mike Kelley, and Tracy Robles; seven great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Harold and Nancy Boynton, Russell and Doreen Boynton, and Joanne Lambdin, all of Lamoine. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence V. “Buddy” Jordan Jr.; and her sister, Dottie (Boynton) Harvey.
At the request of Nancy and her family, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to CancerCare of Maine, care of Healthcare Charities, P.O. Box 931, Bangor, ME 04402-0931.
