BELFAST – Matthew J. Cynewski, 21, passed away unexpectedly Aug. 22, 2011. He was born July 20, 1990, in Bangor, to Donald J. and Pamela (Oliver) Cynewski.
Matt attended Belfast schools and worked at Ducktrap. He loved spending time with his 2 1/2-month-old daughter, Kayli. He enjoyed snowboarding, video games, and hanging out with friends and family.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents. Matt is survived by his girlfriend and close companion, Jessi Knowlton and their daughter, Kayli, of Belfast; his brother and sister, Ben Cynewski and Katherine Cynewski, both of Northport, who he had an exceptionally close relationship with; his father, Don Cynewski and partner, Karen Stearns, of Northport; his mother, Pam Heath and her husband, David, of Bath; paternal grandparents, Richard and Janice Cynewski of Corinth; aunts, uncles, cousins as well as many friends; and the family dog, Astra.
Family and friends are invited to call 4-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast. A private funeral services will be held at a later date. Online condolence may be offered to the family at
