BREWER and STOCKTON SPRINGS – Melvin George Bolduc, 76, died Monday, Aug. 22, 2011, at Togus Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was born Aug. 23, 1934, in Penobscot, son of George T. and Florence (Phillips) Bolduc.
Melvin married Christa Stieg, in 1955. Melvin was a barber in Belfast in his earlier years and then became a truck driver, which he loved the most. He loved the beach, swimming and nature. Melvin was a 30-year member of the Eagles Club and Single’s Club, both of Brewer. He enjoyed exercising everyday at Planet Fitness, Bangor.
He is survived by a son, David Bolduc of Stockton Springs; a stepson, Donald Stieg of South Windham; two daughters, Donna Bolduc of Belfast and Christina Miller of Richmond, Vt.; two sisters, Nancy Patten of Orland and Betty Gott of Rhode Island; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; as well as a very special friend, Brenda Gilks of Brewer. Melvin was predeceased by one son, Eric Bolduc; one daughter, Mary-Lou Bolduc; one brother, David Bolduc; and one sister, Ruth Gray.
Family and friends will gather for visitation 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home, 28 Elm St., Bucksport. A graveside service will be conducted 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at Maple Grove Cemetery, Route 1A, Prospect.
