ORONO, Maine — A University of Maine student was charged with unlawful trafficking in marijuana late Saturday after police noticed suspicious activity in the Hilltop parking lot, according to a university spokesman.

A UMaine officer noticed “suspicious activity by a vehicle” around 11:22 p.m. and approached the car and determined the student was selling marijuana, Joe Carr, the university’s director of university relations, said Monday.

The 17-year-old female, who was not identified because of her age, was charged with unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs. (Nok-Noi Ricker, BDN)
