CARIBOU – Lorraine St. Peter, 79, died peacefully Aug. 29, 2011, at her residence. She was born March 4, 1932, in Caribou, the 13th of 15 children born to Edward and Margaret (LaBelle) Hebert.

She married Donald St. Peter, April 18, 1950. Lorraine taught us about family, faith and charity. She volunteered in many capacities at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Her many afghans, socks and mittens will keep many warm for years to come. Many have been fed through her work for several years with the food pantry.

She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Michael and Linda St. Peter of Una, S.C., Steven and Kim St. Peter of Old Orchard Beach, and John St. Peter of Presque Isle; two daughters, Laura St. Peter of Ashland, and Barbara and her husband, Bruce Alexander, of Easton; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Sullivan Baker of Pittsfield, Louise Pike of Wayne and Phyllis Brown of Woodland; two brothers, Oscar and his wife, Marion Hebert, of Dixmont, and Dennis Hebert of Gettysburg, Pa.; many nieces and nephews, and several special godchildren. She leaves behind many special friends, Susan Lucier of Scarborough, Rita Devost, Sandra Levesque, Gordon Ouellette and Paul St. Peter, all of Caribou. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years in 2008, her parents; brothers, Louis, Philip, Wilfred, Remie and Delphus; and sisters, Delphine McTigue, Lillian LaVasseur and Annie Libby.

Friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of services Thursday, Sept. 1, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. at Parish of Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Damboise officiating in a Mass of Christian burial. A reception will be held at Parish Center. Interment will be held at a later date.
