VAN BUREN – Pearl E. Poitrais, 71, died Aug. 27, 2011, at a Van Buren health care facility after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 19, 1940, in St. Leonard, New Brunswick, the daughter of Vivian Akerley.
She was employed in the hospitality industry, working in various area restaurants and lounges for many years.
Pearl is survived by one daughter, Sandy Parent of Cyr Plantation; three sons, Larry Parent of North Carolina, Jason Poitras of Connecticut and Cory Poitras of Colorado; nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
