EASTPORT – Claire Beatrice (Dick) Lee, 92, passed away Friday afternoon, Sept. 2, 2011, at Atlantic Rehabilitation, Calais. Claire was born Dec. 23, 1918, in Mascarene, New Brunswick, to Wellington and Rena (Matthews) Dick.
She soon after moved to Maine, where she attended many of the local schools. In 1945 she married William E. Lee. Claire was a member of Pembroke United Methodist Church and Pennamaquan Chapter No. 146, Order of the Eastern Star. She worked many summers in the local fish factories. Claire loved fashion and was always full of energy. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Claire was predeceased by her husband, Bill; her son, Gary; a sister, Berna Hatch; and three brothers, Lloyd, Nelson and Hugh Dick. She is survived by her two grandchildren, Gary Lee Jr. of Calais and Shannon Emery and her husband, Mark; her great-granddaughter, Rachel Emery; and her daughter-in-law, Catherine Lee, all of Eastport.
A graveside service will be held 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, at Hillside Cemetery, Eastport. Arrangements are in the care of Mays Funeral Home, Calais and Eastport. Condolences and memories may be shared at
