MADAWASKA – Donat J. Clavette, 79, passed away peacefully Sept. 3, 2011, at a Madawaska health care facility.
He was born Oct. 16, 1931, in Madawaska, son of the late Denis and Mathilda (Doucette) Clavette.
He is survived by five sisters, Theresa Couturier and her husband, Charles, of Madawaska, Simone Mack and her husband, Herbert, of Newington, Conn., Vi Bouchard and her husband, Harold, of Frenchville, Blanche Haskins and her husband, Roy, of Lakeland, Fla., and Muriel Barry and her husband, Michael, of Frenchville; five brothers, Yvon Clavette and his wife, Yvette, of Watertown, Conn., Gilbert Clavette and his wife, Sandi, of Vero Beach, Fla., Maurice Clavette and his wife, Louise, of Madawaska, Claude Clavette and his wife, Jackie, of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Oneil Clavette and his wife, Donna, of Madawaska; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Clavette.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at Lajoie Funeral Home. For online condolences, please visit
