NEWPORT – Marjorie West, 99, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sept. 1, 2011. She was born March 22, 1912, in Washburn, a daughter of William and Violet (Sperry) Humphrey.

She had been employed as a short order cook in area restaurants, and later, as a handsewer in area shoe shops. She became a member of the original church, Newport House of Prayer, now known as Jubilee Family Worship Center.

She is survived by three sons, Maurice and wife, Janice West, of Sebago, Robert West of Hartland and William West of Bucksport; a daughter, Prudence Larouche of Newport;

12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Perley.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Jubilee Family Worship Center, 163 Elm St., Newport, with the Rev. Scott Black officiating.
