PRENTISS – Sterling L. Worster, 79, husband of Norma Worster, passed away Sept. 3, 2011, at his home. He was born April 15, 1932, in Kingman, the son of Joseph and Luddie (Worster) Worster.
Sterling was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he attained the rank of sergeant. He worked with Army dogs and received a certificate in Scout Dog Handling. He worked in the woods with his brother, Eldon, for 30 years, the last 20 years of that working for Cal Thompson. He was an avid fisherman who could catch a fish anywhere, even in a mud puddle. A dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, he was especially devoted to his wife throughout her sickness.
In addition to his wife, Norma, he is survived by a daughter, Lorna Smart and Jack; a granddaughter, Caroline Smart, all of Lincoln; stepgranddaughter, Jaime Smart and great-granddaughter, Mallory Smart; siblings, Pauline Worster, Elwood Worster and Barbara, Dorothy Worster, Wendell Worster and Ruth, Violet Worster, Donna Washburn and Dean, Eldon Worster and Marie, and Donald Worster and Roycene; sister-in-law, Roberta Worster; special nephew and special niece, Barry Worster and Elaine Chasse; several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Arnold; and a sister, Arlene.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Road, Lincoln, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Roy Richardson officiating.
