WHITING – Charles Willard Look Sr., 71, died Sept. 4, 2011, at his home with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 19, 1939, in Whiting, son of Austin and Dorothy (Beam) Look.
He attended Washington Academy and later served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He loved gardening and the outdoors. He liked doing woodworking, watching Westerns, spending time with his dog, Coco, and having his grandchildren visit. He was a member of Warren Lodge No. 2 AF & AM of East Machias.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Wayne; a daughter, Melissa; and a brother, Anthony Wayne. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Elaine (Griffin) Look; three sons, Charles W. Jr. of Brewer, Troy and wife, Jessica, and Anthony “Tony,” both of Whiting; a daughter-in-law, Grace of Machias; siblings, Constance Holmes of Southwest Harbor, Ernie and Sharon Gilley of Seal Harbor, Austin of Newport and Maryann Hall of Lewiston; grandchildren, Tanya and Jeremy of Brewer, Breanna, Austin and Ryan of Machias and Jackson, Tyler and Jolan of Whiting; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Mary Look Cemetery, Route 191, Whiting. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make donations in his memory may do so to the American Heart Association Maine Affiliate, Inc., 51 U.S. Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are in care of McClure Family Funeral Services, Machias and Lubec.
