PEMBROKE – Charles “Wayne” Mitchell, 64, went to be with the Lord Sept. 5, 2011, after an extended illness. He was born Dec. 12, 1946, in Eastport, son of Charles H. Mitchell and Margaret T. Call (Mitchell/Chute) of Eastport.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, Armored Division. Some of his interests included playing and teaching music. He loved to play the guitar, mandolin and dobro. He was also involved with Amateur Radio Operation as an avid member and a devoted instructor. His most enjoyable time is spent with his loving family and close friends. He was also an active member of Perry Bible Fellowship Church. Wayne will most be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, a caring father, grandfather, brother and a true friend to many, and will be deeply missed.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Linda; three children: daughter, Vikki and her companion, Willie, of Eastport, son, Charles and his wife, Shona, of Addison, and son, Arron and his fiance, Carolyn of Hancock; two brothers, Maurice and his wife, Regina, of Eastport and Bobbie and his wife, Genevieve, of Eastport; six very special grandchildren, Harold, Kaitlyn, Kalah, David, Bryson and Brayden; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving daughter, Carrie; parents, Charles and Margarete; and brother, Herbie.
Services for “Wayne” will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at Perry Bible Fellowship Church, Perry, with a committal held 2 p.m. at Bayside Cemetery, Eastport.
