HARTLAND – Arlene V. Fowler, 90, passed away Sept. 8, 2011, at a Pittsfield health care facility. She was born June 27, 1921, in Brewer, a daughter of Vasco and Madelene (Burrill) Carter.
She graduated from Ellsworth High School, class of 1939. Arlene was a life member and past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of the Grange.
She is survived by four children, Elaine DeBarros, Carolyn Kurcaba, June Vicnaire and Bruce Fowler; two sisters, Althea and husband, Hubert Burks, and Nancy Shaw; two sisters-in-law, Edrie and Marise Carter; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Daniel and Richard Carter; and a brother-in-law, Warren Shaw.
There will be no services at this time. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
