CASTALIA, Ohio – Rita M. (Koby) Flewelling, 68, died Thursday night, Sept. 8, 2011, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born May 15, 1943, in Tiffin, Ohio.
Rita was a 1961 graduate of Tiffin Calvert High School. She was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church and Margaretta Mama Bears. She enjoyed gardening and being with her grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her husband whom she was married for 41 years, Dale; two sons, Matthew Flewelling and wife, Jenny, of Clyde, Ohio, and Michael Flewelling of North Olmsted, Ohio; one stepson, Dale Flewelling and wife, Andrea, of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Jared, Kyle, Anthony, Garrett, Mason and Gianna; one sister, Donna Spitler of Findlay, Ohio; two brothers, Herman Koby and wife, Saundra, of Westerville, Ohio, and Robert Koby and wife, Jane, of Tiffin, Ohio; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Louis and Mildred (Bentz) Koby; two infants, Brian and Martin; and stillborn baby, Elaine.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 South Washington St., Castalia, Ohio. Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 429 Central Ave., Sandusky, Ohio, with the Rev. David Nuss officiating. Burial will be at Castalia Cemetery.
