BANGOR – Daralene Rinks, 63, left this precious life Sept. 12, 2011, to go home to be with her Lord and Savior after suffering a long illness. She was born Jan. 21, 1948, in Island Falls, daughter of Alton and Lucy (Goodall) Plourde.
She graduated from Greenville High School in 1966 and furthered her education by obtaining her cosmetologist license a year later. Later in life she chose to open a daycare center in Bangor because of her love for children.
She was predeceased by her parents. Surviving are her loving husband of 40 years, Warren D. Rinks; son, Shane D. Rinks, both of Bangor; a daughter and son-in-law, Wilhilmina “Mimi” and Samuel L. Cannon of Winterport; a sister, Donna E. (Plourde) Chase; a brother, Dennis A. Plourde, both of Bangor; and special lifelong friends, Helen Larry and Roxanne Watson, both of Bangor.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Relatives and friends are invited to call noon until the time of service Friday. Gifts in her memory may be made to Greater Bangor Area Shelter, P.O. Box 1754, Bangor, ME 04402-1754.
