WOODLAND – Nora Jane Pelletier, 88, died Sept. 8, 2011, in Van Buren after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Allagash, daughter of Charles and Ester (Bishop) Kelly.

She was educated in the Fort Kent school system and was a self-employed seamstress for many years. She married Maynard Pelletier, March 8, 1942.

Surviving in addition to her husband of Woodland, are three sons, Dale Pelletier of Fort Fairfield, Larry Pelletier of Tucson, Ariz., and Michael Pelletier of Caribou; one daughter, Terry Murphy and her husband, John, of Fort Kent; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Nora was predeceased by a son, John Pelletier; and a daughter, Dina Kelly.
