HAMPDEN – Valeska Mae (Elliott) Robinson, 94, passed away peacefully Sept. 13, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 12, 1917, in Brewer, daughter of Clifford E. and Nina B. Elliott.

Val was a graduate of Bangor High School, Class of 1935. She lived in Hampden for many years and was a member of Hampden Senior Citizens. She worked for many years in the Bangor area as a sales clerk and caring for children. Valeska was always a lady who loved life and all the simple joys that go with it. She was a positive person and loved listening to music especially performed by her dear friends known as “INOURMIDST,” which includes Susanne DeGrasse, Edie Beaulieu and Jean Boutot.

She is survived by her son, Arthur F. Stimpson and his wife, Barbara J., of Lewiston; two sisters, Valada DeGrasse of Idaho and June Phillips of Oklahoma; stepdaughter, Janet Stuart and her husband, James Stuart, M.D., of York; son-in-law, Roger Porter of Hampden; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Mark and Stephen; great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves special friends, Joseph A. DeGrasse, Bobby Porter, Mary Armstrong, Lorna Snyder, Roberta Alls, Mary Ellen Adams and Mary Pierce. Val was predeceased by her first husband, Arthur F. Stimpson; second husband, Alvah H. Robinson; daughter, Nancy Porter; stepdaughter, Patricia; and two brothers, Dexter and Manson.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden. Interment will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
