PALMYRA – Lawrence B. Graeber Sr., 80, died Sept. 21, 2011, at a Bangor hospital. He was born July 4, 1931, in Newark, N.J., a son of Herbert and Marie (Cawood) Graeber.

He graduated from Summit High School and in 1952 married Dorothy Brown. Lawrence served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and hunting. He was employed at Hartley’s Sheet Metal, Chatham, N.J., and retired as shop foreman from Service Metal, Rockaway, N.J. He and Dorothy moved to Palmyra after retiring in 1994.

In addition to his wife of 59 years of Palmyra, he is survived by six children, Laurie Stocker of Palmyra, Lawrence Jr. of Kenville, N.J., Herbert of Ocala, Fla., Allen of Netcong, N.J., Jeffery of Dingmans Ferry, Pa., and Jon of Broadheadsville, Pa.; nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, at Smith- McCracken Funeral Home, 63 High St., Newton, N.J., where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday.
