PRESQUE ISLE – Leona R. Curtis, 75, died Sept. 23, 2011, at Aroostook Health Care Center, Mars Hill. She was born June 2, 1936, in Woodland, daughter of Leroy and Annie (Amero) Little.

Leona was employed at Potato Service, Presque Isle, for many years. She enjoyed being a homemaker, loved to cook, and especially enjoyed family gatherings on Sundays. She was a life member of Hayward-Frazier Ladies Auxiliary Post No. 2599.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Franklin L. Curtis; three sons, Leonard Curtis, Gary Curtis, and Richard Curtis and his wife, Lorraine, all of Presque Isle; and four daughters, Katherine Curtis, Tammy Curtis, Brenda Hafford and her husband, Timmie, all of Presque Isle, and Penny McDonald and her husband, Fred, of Mars Hill. She is also survived by two brothers, Lewis Little and his wife, Sylvia, of Fort Fairfield and Larry Little and his wife, Joyce, of Presque Isle; seven sisters, Lila Day, Bonnie Johnson, Lois Griffin and her husband, Kenneth, Ruby Lafrance and her husband, Roger, Darlene Ouellette and her husband, Dale, all of Presque Isle, Wilma McGrath and her husband, Earl Sr., of Mapleton and Gail Feichtner and her husband, Frank, of Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 67 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Ronald Curtis, in 2001; four brothers, Robert, Raymond, Roger and Paul Little; and a sister, Carla Little.

Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Larry Palmer officiating.
